Pilates has tremendous benefits and is suitable for everyone regardless of fitness level, age, size, or any other factor.

Incorporating a Pilates practice into your training regimen or weekly exercise plan can greatly support and enhance any activity you take on.

Whether you’re seeking to feel better, tone up, build muscle mass and bone density, improve  your sports or even gardening performance Pilates can positively affect your quality of life. Pilates is a Pilates is a low impact exercise method of whole body. Though there is an emphasis on core work, core strength alone is not the end goal. Rather, using that core strength to develop functional and sustainable movement patterns throughout the body is the goal.

What equipment does MyoStudio use?

​

Reformers - this specialised piece of equipment is used to help muscles focus on the eccentric, or lowering, phase of a movement in which your muscles are in a lengthened position. This type of exercise has been proven to improve flexibility.

​

Reformer Pilates makes the muscles stronger through time under tension and tempo, not just the load (not lifting heavy weights). 

 

Therefore strength & flexibility = MOBILITY & IMPROVED  BALANCE

 

Cadillac - Similar to the reformer The Cadillac is a low impact machine - however it uses springs for tension and does not have a carriage that slides up and down.

KLT Kinetic Link Training (KLT) - Is a type of full body strength and balance technique, designed by physiotherapist Wayne Rogers. It uses pully systems, free hand weights and bands Always using functional standing movements upper and lower body working together.

​​​

To aid in your exercise, rehabilitation and balance programs, Erin will use what best suits you.  Programs can also be written for home or gym and specific sports.
